Will you help?

Here is an opportunity to become actively involved in finding good homes for our wonderful cats and to meet other cat-loving individuals. Just as your input about a new shelter vehicle resulted in the purchase of that vehicle, your response to this request may determine whether HSWC can expand into Victor to provide another satellite adoption center for us.  Please respond to the shelter at (315) 946-3389 or to Andi Meyer at (315) 986-1287. The new store opened in October.

Could your dog benefit from some obedience training?

Training classes for Puppy Kindergarten (ages 7–16 weeks), Teen Puppy (ages 5–11 months), and Good Dog (ages one year and older) starting Wednesday evening, April 17, 2013, for 7 weeks, ending June 5 (no classes March 24) at the Palmyra Macedon Middle School, in Palmyra. $25 discount for dogs adopted from the HSWC within the last year. There must be a minimum of 4 dogs registered for the CGCC class or it will be cancelled.

Visit http://www.pawsitivebehavior.com for information and registration.

Getting involved

  • We'd love to publish your success stories on the web. You've been sending pictures and letters to the shelter for years, please include us, too!  Please send submissions to the webmaster at:
    coop [at] hswaynepets [dot] org.

  • Buy stuff. Come, Stay, Eat! Our cookbook is on sale at the shelter. It's a a collection of 200 recipes, helpful things and marvelous artwork. And, it's only $12.00 to purchase. There's also an order form (pdf) if you'd prefer to get them by mail. There's also a large selection of resale items at the shelter.

  • Donate money. All aboard the Penny Express! We're on a mission to update our cat cages. Read on

  • Donate time. We're actively seeking volunteers to work at our Webster and Canandaigua adoption centers. The application to help out at the PetsMart store is here (pdf).
