The HSWC hosts a variety of events throughout the year.

Auction

Our annual auction is quickly becoming one of our more popular events. It features both silent and live auction items and is held around St. Valentine's Day.

Paws for a Cause

Throughout the month of May our volunteers visit area stores and sell pawprint certificates. Personalize them with your name or your pet's name. Merchants throughout the county display the certificates throughout the compaign. This is a popular and inexpensive way to help the HSWC care for its charges.

Open House

Join us on the shelter grounds for an afternoon of informative fun. We have a number of booths manned by members of the Board of Directors, featured guests who speak on topics ranging from grooming to the law, and demonstrations. We offer lunch various sale items throughout the afternoon. The open house is usually held in early June. It's a great way for us to spend a plesant late-spring afternoon with friends.

Mutt Strut

Becoming one of our more popular events, Mutt Strut is held in September. Register, obtain pledges and come spend a sunny autumn afternoon with us and your fellow dog lovers.

Pasta Dinner and White Elephant Sale

Our most popular event is held in October each year. Plan to join us for a generous meal and terrific bargains on pre-enjoyed crafts and items.

Tree of Lights for the Animals

Our Tree of Lights extends from Thanksgiving through the Christmas and Hanukkah holidays. You are invited to help decorate the shelter's holiday tree with lights and ornaments by making donations in honor or memory of your pet.
