Meet Jason Divelbliss

Darlene Everett

Jason is the polite gentle young man who helps take care of the dogs at our Shelter.  He loves the dogs and cats, and says he hates being sick because then he can’t go to work.  Why is Jason in the right job?  Well, he enjoys helping Joe Riordan (HSWC Animal Care Technican) in showing the dogs to potential adopters; he is pleased to talk to people.  He says, “I like it when they smile when they get a dog.”

Like his mother, Jason wants to do all he can to help the animals.  Right now, he is paying for the heartworm treatment for a seven-year old silver Siberian husky with blue eyes.  Nikita was surrendered to the Shelter because her owner was moving.  When heartworm was found, Jason volunteered to pay for Nikita’s treatment.  (Our Shelter provides routine vaccinations and medical care, but funds are not sufficient for more extensive veterinary care).  Jason’s reasoning for helping Nikita is that she is a sweet calm dog.  Nikita is currently in foster care while undergoing her treatment.

Jason wants our readers to know that, “We have a good Shelter because we care about the animals.”  He wants all of our dogs and cats to get good homes.  He would like us to be able to build a new shelter facility with more space and a better setup for the animals.  When asked what he would like to share about himself and his job, Jason thought for a long time and then he said, “The animals that I take care of are special to my heart.”
