Wayne County Public Health in cooperation with Lyons Veterinary Clinic has scheduled our Spring Rabies Clinics. With new rabies laws in place, it is more important than every to ensure that our dog, cat or domestic ferret is currently vaccinated against rabies. All dogs, cats and ferrets 4 months of age and older are required by law to be vaccinated against rabies. Dog licenses still must be renewed yearly, but additionally, will expire before one year if your rabies vaccination expires. In effect, if your rabies vaccination expires, so does your dog license. Substantial fines may be imposed in the even that your dog, cat or ferret are found to be unvaccinated or overdue for vaccination.
All animals that are brought to the clinic must be leashed
or securely confined to prevent escapes and injuries. A $5.00 donation is
appreciated to help defray the cost of clinics, but no animal will be turned
away due to the inability if its owners to donate. Our most important goal is to
